One of the big pieces of news to come along with Samsung's Gear S2 announcement was that it will be compatible with non-Samsung smartphones. There are some restrictions however, as Samsung notes that the Gear S2 requires a paired smartphone with Android 4.4 and higher and more than 1.5GB of RAM.
